This cute little spot nestled between Minden and Haliburton is where these two lovebirds first met, making it the perfect choice for their big day. Bark Lake has everything you need for an intimate woodsy feeling to your wedding: cottages for getting ready and guests, beautiful spots for a ceremony, and endless forest and lake views for photos. Lauren and Nate met while volunteering over the summer, and the memory was so strong they can actually reinact exactly where they were and what they thought when their eyes first met. How stinking ADORABLE is that?!
This rainy, foggy, forest wedding has my heart. Moody, romantic, full of laughter, happy tears, lots of hugs, tall trees, and canoes.
Every wedding has a few things that always stay with me. In no particular order, this wedding had a couple that I remembered going through these photos just to blog the day:
- They both cried as Lauren walked down the aisle, and during the ceremony, and more tears during portraits, because they’re loves in love
- Both of them made goofy faces and puckered lips and weird noises instead of being romantic for portraits and it was perfect
- We got eaten alive by mosquitoes, which was totally worth it
- They RAN into their reception giving as many high-fives as they possibly could. Nobody else has done this before or since. It was so fun!!
I loved how honest, goofy, and naturally sweet the whole day was with these two. Thank you so much for letting me be weird with you guys.
